From America to Belgium...

Some of my 'far away family' is coming to Belgium with the purpose (among others I presume!) to do a little research on the connections of our roots... Hope we manage to put together some information.

At this moment, I'm just a little frustrated about the amount of information available and soooooo many people having bits and pieces of the information but not being able to have them clear and connected... As it does look all of this is connected in some way, but I can't manage to provide insight into the big picture.

I guess I have to start again with some of this software because it's no use in just keeping e-mails and websites and document because I have the feeling I need to start all over everytime I have a look at them...

I'll start with being happy with this amount of info and start working on it again so at least, I can show Denise something when she arrives!! ;-)

After the BIG Veulemans Party...

This search started when organising a simple family Veulemans reunion...
And by family I mean, everybody as from my great-grandparents, Alfons Veulemans and Pelagie Pittomvils downwards.

This reunion took place on March 22, 2009 and was a great success.

My curiosity is aroused and since I now have (almost) all facts (names, adresses and dates of birth / death) about this family, I feel the urge to widen my scope to two additional questions:

• What story does this tree tell me? Who are the people behind it? All but one (my grandmother, widow of Paul Veulemans) of this generation have past away and so it is time to capture the stories of these lives before they are gone forever...
• What can I find out about my ancestors? How do we fit with other Veulemansen? And how about these American families: Velman and Veuleman. I did found some bits and pieces but I hope to glue them together with this research...
